Just a few minutes of your time…

If you know me, you probably know that my family is involved in the TEA party movement. Many people have different opinions of this movement. Some say “OK! that’s awesome for you, yeah, you go fix the government!” Others, “You racist hate-mongers! Go back to the caves you came from!” Some say, “You guys are wasting your time, why don’t you just pray more?”

Well, whatever you might say about us, for the next few minutes, I want to tell you what motivates us to action.

America is on the wrong path. Everyday, the government is taking more and more freedoms away, while our culture becomes more and more sinful. We have left our elected officials unaccountable for too long! Everyday it is becoming more clear that they are not representing the interest of the people, but their own. The TEA party movement is all about replacing the tyrants in Washington with God-fearing, America-Loving patriots who will follow the constitution. Right now, we are in a midterm election year. This means that, while the president is not up for reelection, all of the House of Representatives, and 1/3 of the senate is up for reelection. Even still, with these elections, we have the power to stop tyranny in its tracks!

This is a personal plea! If you love your country, it is pivotally important that you vote on November 2 of this year. If you aren’t convinced, I present to you, Exhibit A

This man, Phil Hare, is a congressman from Illinois. In this video, a constituent is asking him about the constitutionality of the healthcare then-bill now law. I could talk about how egregious that whole mess is, but instead, I want to focus on the man himself. All congressmen, as they are sworn in, swear to uphold the constitution, in other words obey what it says and not make laws that are contrary to it. When questioned about an unpopular healthcare bill, he could only appeal to emotion because he “doesn’t care about the constitution.”

So, since the tyrants in congress have no problem disregarding their oath, what CAN’T the federal government do. To answer this question, I offer exhibit B

Here, Pete Stark, a congressman from California says that the federal government can do almost anything it wants in this country. Obviously, he thinks the same way as his colleague, Mr. Hare, because he doesn’t care about the constitution either, to the point that he believes that the federal government can tell you that you have to buy health insurance, and that doctor’s have to provide whatever medical services are necessary. I hope I don’t have to explain to you how wrong and immoral that kind of thinking is.

Oh, but some might say, “yeah, but that first guy was from Illinois, which is home to so many corrupt politicians, and the second guy was from California, the land of fruits and nuts! they can’t possibly be representative of where I live!” Well, maybe you do live in a place where this is not the norm, but for the Hoosiers that read this, we aren’t free of tyrants ourselves.

Exhibit C

This is representative Baron Hill from Indiana’s 9th congressional district. There was just one line in that whole video you need to hear: “You’re not going to tell me how to run my congressional office.” I think you get the point, they are all tyrants and they  need to be stopped. And the awesome part is that YOU can help!!!!

We still have free elections in this country. The only way to stop this is to vote these men out NOW! You can still make a difference in your community by supporting candidates that believe in the constitution and freedom. If you think you have no power, you’re WRONG! In this struggle, we need EVERY VOTE we can get. If no one votes, the tyrants win. If you vote against them, to replace them with REAL conservatives, then you are at least doing your part.

If you aren’t registered, you need to be. If you are going to be 18 before November 2nd of this year, you can register to vote. Since I am in Indiana, I will include this link :https://indianavoters.in.gov/PublicSite/PublicMain.aspx . This is where Hoosiers can register. Others should check their secretary of state’s official website.

We can turn this around, but we need your help. Look up your local candidates, see what they stand for. If they won’t tell you, then don’t vote for them. Contact your local tea party group, which should be very informative about candidates.

You have the power to save the freedoms of generations to come.

Will you do what it takes?

Introducing, Media Monday!!! Featuring Kanye West

Yeah, I don’t want to bore you with news the time. So I want to talk about something completely apolitical that my intended audience will know about.

IMMA LET YOU FINNISH, BUT.....

Yeah… I guess kanye still feels bad, so he’s written a song for Taylor to sing, hoping to make a mends.

There’s a few problems with this.

1) Those of us who truly understand celebrities like Kanye know that he’s not JUST a big jerk. He did it purely for the attention. He has enough money, but only teens to 20-somethings knew who he was. After the incident with Swift, he was all over the news and EVERYBODY knew who he was. This just enforces his own idea that he's the greatest rapper/producer alive, and anyone who doesn’t get that is just stupid. He might be a pretentious jerk, but he’s knows how to make a splash in our culture, and he knows how to milk it for all its worth.

2) Why should he apologize now? I mentioned our culture before. It always bothers me how one dumb celebrity’s actions can cause such a stir in peoples’ minds. But, the thing is, people forgot about it! (at least I did…) People have very short attention spans, and a lot has happened in a year… and besides! it should have been already fixed and over, so why bring it up now? His new album comes out in November. coincidence? I dont think so…

I hope this teaches Kanye a lesson in humility… maybe he’s not the best rapper ever.

9-11-01… Never Forget…

Until now…

I’ll be honest. It’s hard to stay mad about something that happened a long time ago.

I remember waking up on September 11, 2001, turning on the TV and seeing the Towers collapse. I was still very young, but I remember the memorials, the somber news coverage, and the way it brought our whole society together.

But that was over 9 years ago, and “9-11” has become a byword in most American homes. We look at it as an inconvenience, since it caused airline security to be much more intrusive. Additionally, it was the great catalyst for the controversial “War on Terror.” that has been a major political issue every since it started. The attacks have changed the course of American history. As a country, we understand the gravity of the attack, but the initial sting is completely gone for almost everyone outside New York City.

However, Times have changed.

In the days after the after the attacks, the idea of building a mosque next to Ground Zero was unthinkable. But in our age of religious tolerance, there is a misled minority that still naively believes that appeasing the Muslim world will somehow make them more agreeable towards America. One might ask “What makes those people think this way? Don’t they look at the facts about Muslim teachings and see the evil in them?” This is a valid question and I believe the answer highlights a very interesting worldview question: What is Evil?"
For one side,  Evil was embodied in the 9-11 attacks. The perpetrators were religious extremists, who were told by the hateful teachers of their culture that they have nothing to live for, but that by dying in Jihad, they would be granted immediate entrance into paradise. In the full scheme of things, the ultimate blame lies not on the bombers themselves, but on the planners of the attack who would desire harm and terror upon innocent people. For those of us who use our God-given conscience, it is never acceptable to kill the innocent. But Islam clearly teaches that the infidels (non-Muslims) should be put to death, and this killing makes the Muslim more righteous. This is evil.

But for the supporters of the mosque, the great evil in this situation is the infringement of the Muslims’ religious freedom. This side sincerely believes that Islam is a peaceful religion and that the 9-11 terrorists were just a radical fringe group. Initially, it may seem that this side is naive, ignorant, or just plain crazy, but the answer lies deeper than the surface. They believe this because of their worldview. If you believe that there is no God, or that there is more than one way to heaven, it logically follows that the Muslims are the victims of the controversy. If you believe that truth is relative and that everyone can make their own truth, then one could fight for those who are being forbidden to worship in the way they want. By fighting for a cause such as this, it is easy to imagine the self-righteous feelings that come from being a warrior for tolerance. Additionally, this side sees America as nothing more than a giant bully who oppresses the poor nations of the world. There are some who say that America is unfairly occupying Arab Muslim countries, and so letting that culture have a mosque would somehow balance the scale of justice. This goes back to worldview again: What is fair? Is it offering equal opportunities to all? Or giving special treatment to those whom the government determines have less?

It seems to me that this second side has forgotten, and America is worse off for it.

Restoring Honor Stars Here…

Until the whole country hears us loud and clear.

Last year, on September 12, my family and I traveled to Washington, DC to join a million other like-minded liberty loving Americans in the biggest and most epic protest I (and most of the people there) had ever seen. We were raging mad about out-of-control and overly intrusive federal government and we were celebrating the constitution and the ideals of the founders.

Shortly after that march, Glenn Beck announced he would host a similar gathering on the steps of the Lincoln memorial on August 28 2010, the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s famous March on Washington, and his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. The goal was turning this country around and bring it back to the ideals upon which it was founded. I just returned from this gathering. What I saw today was much, much different from what I saw last year.

Basically, we went to America Church….. (Click link for the news story)

This rally had zero to do with politics and everything to do with the American people returning to God as a culture and reversing the lack of national pride that most Americans have been conditioned over time to exhibit. In the months and weeks leading up to the event, he urged people not to treat this as not just another tea party protest. I remember him saying, “Leave your signs at home, and make sure bring your children.” And it wasn’t a protest. It was just a gathering of God-fearing, freedom-loving patriots.

One of the main things I believe Mr. Beck set out to do was show a contrast between the false stereotypes about the TEA party and the truth. Lately it seems the loudest accusation against the TEA party is racism. It would be very easy for the mainstream media to show images of hoards of old angry white men and call racism, even though nothing could be farther from the truth. To fight against this, Beck invited the niece of MLK, Alveta King to speak.  Her speech was almost a sermon! She was followed by another black lady who sang about rebuilding the Twin Towers, and then by a small black gospel choir singing about “standing together in unity.” It honestly felt like it was one big black church service. It was GREAT! Beck never said this was his intention, but I can just imagine he did this to contrast the image being protrayed by the news media. It’s hard to call a group racist when one of your speakers is a relative of the greatest civil rights leader in American history.

The overall message came across to everyone in attendance: we cannot fix American politics until we fix the American people, and to fix the people, each of us must look to God (the judeo-christian one), ask for forgiveness and do our best to love our neighbor. Once we do this, once we fix the root of the issue, the rest is just details.
